The evening will feature a fireside chat between Amy Brand, MIT alum and Director of the MIT Press, and Saul Justin Newman, interdisciplinary senior research fellow at the University of Oxford Institute of Population Ageing and University College London’s Centre for Longitudinal Studies, and author of Morbid: Debunking Modern Longevity Science (MIT Press, 2026).
In Morbid, Newman unpacks the myths, scandals, and shaky claims that have shaped modern longevity science, inviting readers to look more critically at what we think we know about ageing and growing old.
