London Theatre Event: The 47th at the Old Vic

The Brown Club of the United Kingdom is offering tickets discounted at roughly 20% to watch The 47th at the Old Vic, a fictional story of the 2024 race for the 47th President.

As you undoubtedly know, this is an election year in the US. And by all accounts it will be another fraught and nail-biting battle in jurisdictions up and down the US, as the Democrats and Republicans vie for control of the House and Senate, as well as Governorships and state legislatures all across the country.

The Big Show, however, will be the 2024 Presidential election…but you can get a preview next month!

The Old Vic theatre is currently producing The 47th, which is the fictional story of the 2024 race for the 47th President. It promises to be funny, ironic, agonising and encapsulate the year-long political process into a single night. The cast of characters includes Biden, Kamala and Trump – of course – but also Ivanka, Cruz, and even Obama, Clinton and W. The team behind the production also did the multi award-winning King Charles III so we expect it will be a great night out.

This time we’ve upgraded the offer and arranged for tickets for the best seats in the house. Discounted roughly 20%, these are priced at £52.50 or £45 and once again include a complimentary program. If interested, please just email George.King@masecopw.com for the offer code and call the box office to get your tickets. The evening we’re seeking to all go out together is May 5th; if you can’t make that date give us a shout and if there’s enough interest we might be able to arrange for another evening, as well.

If you don’t want to splurge for the top tickets, do feel free to book yourself in for cheaper tickets in the theatre, but still come and join us for drinks and robust debate and belly laughs afterwards. We’ll be arranging our own après theatre space nearby.

The reviews for the show have been extensive and generally positive, but also mixed. It is an odd experience to hear Trump speak in blank verse and it is a unique challenge to stage something which is so current. All the more reason to see it for yourself and not miss this timely and challenging staging at the Old Vic.
