25 March: “Climate Change, Justice, and What Happened in Copenhagen”: Lecture by Brown University Professor Timmons Roberts

Brown University Professor J. Timmons Roberts is the Director of the Center for Environmental Studies and Professor of Sociology and Environmental Studies.

Timmons' interests in environmental science and policy are broad. His main current research concerns global inequality and climate change (in who is suffering most, who caused the problem, and who is taking action), and the role of foreign aid in addressing climate justice matters. 10 June: BCUK Lecture, Professor Omer Bartov
Professor Bartov teaches a seminar called "Modern Genocide and Other Crimes against Humanity". One of the most popular classes at Brown. Booking details to follow

Brown University Professor Omer Bartov is the John P. Birkelund Distinguished Professor of European History and Professor of History and Professor of German Studies.

Professor Bartov is considered one of the world's leading authorities on the subject of genocide. He is the author of seven books and the editor of three volumes; his work has been translated into several languages. His most recent book, Erased: Vanishing Traces of Jewish Galicia in Present-Day Ukraine (Princeton, 2007), examines the politics of memory in Western Ukraine and erasure of both the memory and the few material remains of Jewish culture there.
